Parakar

Parakar (Armenian: Փարաքար, also Romanized as P’arak’ar; formerly, Shirabad) is a town in the Armavir Province of Armenia. The 2001 census for the whole community, which includes the nearby town of Tairov, was 7,211. The town has a gypsum mine and its Saint Harutyun church dates from 1855.

Zvartnots International Airport

Zvartnots International Airport (Armenian: Զվարթնոց Միջազգային Օդանավակայան Zvart'nots' Mijazgayin Odanavakayan) is located near Zvartnots, 12 km west of Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. The airport was built in 1961. It is now the busiest airport in Armenia. The draftsmen of the airport included architects M. Khachikyan, A. Tarkhanyan, J. Sheqhlyan, L. Cherkezyan and designers H. Tigranyan, A. Meschyan, and constructor M. Baghdasaryan.
