Teralba railway station

Teralba is a railway station located near Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line. The station has two platforms. The station is served by intercity trains to Sydney and local trains to Morisset. Prior to rail electrification, Teralba station operated an island platform, the eastern side for coal transportation from the Pacific colliery, and some passenger services, to and from Newcastle.

1989 Newcastle earthquake

The 1989 Newcastle earthquake was a Richter magnitude 5.6 earthquake that occurred in Newcastle, New South Wales on Thursday, 28 December 1989, at 10:27 am. It was one of Australia's most serious natural disasters, killing 13 people and injuring more than 160. The damage bill has been estimated at A$4 billion (including an insured loss of about $1 billion).

Booragul railway station

Booragul railway station is a railway station located near Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia on the Main North railway line. The station opened in 1926, almost 40 years after the construction of this section of the Main North Line. The station has two platforms in an island configuration with lightweight passenger shelters. The original station buildings were extensively damaged in the 1989 Newcastle earthquake, resulting it their demolition and replacement with the current structures.
