Shire of Boonah

The Shire of Boonah was a local government area in South East Queensland, Australia, about 80 kilometres southwest of Brisbane. The shire covered an area of 1,921.6 square kilometres, and existed from 1880 until its merger with parts of the Shire of Beaudesert and City of Ipswich to form the Scenic Rim Region on 15 March 2008.

Boonah, Queensland

Boonah is a town in south eastern Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 census, the town had a population of 2,474. The area produces vegetables for the nearby Brisbane Markets notably carrots, potatoes, and cereal crops. Beef, pork and timber are also produced locally. The town is positioned near the Fassifern Valley, McPherson Range and Main Range. It is surrounded by hills, including Mount French and other Moogerah Peaks.

Teviotville Tree

Teviotville Tree is a large fig tree in Teviotville, Queensland, Australia that featured in the movie L'Arbre (in French) or The Tree in English. The tree is a large, 130-year-old fig tree which was considered by the French producers to be a perfect tree for the movie, after an exhaustive search for just the right one (per the DVD bonus material).

Teviot Range

The Teviot Range, also referred to as the Flinders Peak Group, is a mountain range located on the northern edge of the Scenic Rim region of South East Queensland, Australia. The first Europeans to cross the range were Patrick Logan and his exploration party in June 1827. Both the Flinders-Coolman Conservation Estate and the Flinders Peak Conservation Park are located within the Teviot Range. The summit in the Range is Flinders Peak reaching 679 m above sea level.

Roadvale, Queensland

Roadvale is a small village located in the Fassifern Valley, south-east Queensland, Australia, 14 kilometres north of the principal town Boonah and 79 kilometres south-west of the capital Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Roadvale and the surrounding area had a population of 559. The railway reached Roadvale in 1887 and in 1915 most of the town was destroyed by fire. Despite rebuilding many businesses the town has never recovered from the devastating fire.
