Bellevue Homestead

Bellevue Homestead in South East Queensland, Australia is heritage listed and was restored by the National Trust of Queensland between 1975 and 1980 after moving the buildings from the banks of the Brisbane River to the nearby town of Coominya to avoid being flooded. The Bellevue property was the western part of the original Wivenhoe Run established in the 1840s which covered 38,000 acres on the western side of the Brisbane River valley.

SEQ Water Grid

The SEQ Water Grid is a region-wide, long term, water supply scheme that provides a sustainable water infrastructure network for the South East Queensland region of Australia. The project was the largest urban response to the Drought in Australia, which was severely affecting water supplies in Brisbane and surrounds, particularly between 2004 and 2007.

Splityard Creek Dam

Splityard Creek Dam, of earth and rock construction, forms the upper reservoir for a power station in the Somerset Region of South East Queensland, Australia. Owned and operated by CS Energy, Wivenhoe Power Station is located on the eastern side of Wivenhoe Dam, north west of Brisbane. The station, which began commercial operation in 1984, was Queensland’s first pumped storage hydro-electric plant. It is operated remotely from an operating centre used to manage the Queensland electricity grid.
