Giru is a small town in Queensland, Australia, situated on the Haughton River 56 km south-east of Townsville. The Bruce Highway bypasses the town. The facility is more commonly known as "Stuart Prison", "Stewart's Creek Penal Establishment", "H.M. Prison Townsville", and now known as "Townsville Correctional Complex. Nelly Bay, Queensland

Nelly Bay is a village on Magnetic Island, and a suburb of the City of Townsville, Australia. A tourism hub on the island, it is especially significant as the site of the ferry terminal, which links it to Townsville. At the 2006 census, Nelly Bay had a population of 973.

Bowling Green Bay National Park

Bowling Green Bay is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 1,103 km northwest of Brisbane, and 28km south of Townsville and 59 km north of Ayr. It is a Ramsar Convention listed Site. The park protects diverse range of habitats including the rugged, forested landscape surrounding Mount Elliot and Saddle Mountain as well as coastal estuaries between Cape Cleveland and Cape Bowling Green.

Wulguru, Queensland

Wulguru is a suburb of Townsville, Queensland. The bushy hills in some areas provide panoramic views of Townsville and Magnetic Island. Most of the area is owned by the Australian Army and is fenced off. The suburb has a population of 4.450. "Wulguru" is the name of an extinct Aboriginal language and it is claimed that the word itself means "windy valley".
