Darling Downs Power Station

Darling Downs Power Station is located 40 km west of Dalby in Queensland and owned by Origin Energy. The Darling Downs Power Station is adjacent to the QLD-NSW high voltage transmission Interconnector and Power Link 320/270 kV Substation. Darling Downs is a gas fired combined cycle gas turbine power station and is the largest of its type in Australia. It is powered by three 120 MW gas turbines and one 270 MW steam turbine, which generate a total of 630 MW of electricity.

Town of Dalby

The Town of Dalby was a local government area of Queensland, Australia which managed the affairs of Dalby. It was located 85 kilometres north-west of Toowoomba. It was first proclaimed a Municipality on 21 August 1863. The Shire of Wambo, also headquartered in Dalby and managing areas which surrounded the town, provided many functions in partnership with the Town, including libraries and area promotion.

Shire of Wambo

The Shire of Wambo was a local government area in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The shire completely surrounded but did not include the town of Dalby — which had its own municipal government. It covered an area of 5,709.7 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1879 until 2008, when it amalgamated with the Town of Dalby and the Shires of Chinchilla, Murilla and Tara and the southern part of Taroom to form the Western Downs Region.

Macalister, Queensland

Macalister is a town in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The town is located in the Western Downs Region local government area and on the Warrego Highway, 235 kilometres north west of the state capital, Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Macalister and the surrounding area had a population of 486.
