Hopevale, (or Hope Vale), Queensland, Australia is an Aboriginal community on Cape York Peninsula about 46 km northwest of Cooktown by road, and about 10 km off the Battlecamp Road that leads to Lakefield National Park and Laura. At the 2006 census, Hopevale had a population of 765.

Endeavour River

The Endeavour River {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:15|27|30|S|145|14|00|E| |primary |name= }} on Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, Australia, was named in 1770 by Lt. James Cook, R.N. , after he was forced to beach his ship, HM Bark Endeavour, for repairs in the river mouth, after damaging it on Endeavour Reef. Joseph Banks named it the Endeavours River but the form Cook used, Endeavour River, has stuck.

Annan River

The Annan River (aka Yuku Baja) is a river that begins in the Yorkey Range, north-north-west of Wujal Wujal in the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland. Being in a wet-dry tropical climate the river receives the majority of its approximately 1800 mm rainfall per year between the months of December and April, a period known as the wet season.
