The County of Bentinck is a county located on the southern boundary of the state of Queensland, Australia. Like all counties in Queensland, it is a non-functional administrative unit, that is used mainly for the purpose of registering land titles. The county was named in 1838 after William Cavendish-Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland, who served as Prime Minister of Great Britain twice, in 1783 and again between 1807 and 1809.

The Granite Belt is an area of the Great Dividing Range in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The Granite Belt is centred on the town of Stanthorpe. The cool, high country of the granite belt is located on Queensland's southern border and north of the New England Tablelands. The area gains its name from the predominantly granite rocks that distinguish it from other areas that make up much of South East Queensland.

Stanthorpe is a town situated in south east Queensland, Australia. The town lies on the New England Highway near the New South Wales border 223 km from Brisbane via Warwick, 56 km north of Tenterfield and 811 m above sea level. The area surrounding the town is known as the Granite Belt. At the 2011 census, Stanthorpe had a population of 5,385.

Applethorpe, Queensland

Applethorpe is a settlement in the Australian state of Queensland. Applethorpe is well known for the production of apples. The town is positioned on the New England Highway just north of Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt region at an elevation of 872 m. There is a railway station on the Southern railway line at Applethorpe. It was part of the former local government area of the Shire of Stanthorpe. During a cold snap in 2007, the town recorded a minimum temperature of −7.7 °C.

Thulimbah, Queensland

Thulimbah is a town in the Southern Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The town is located on the New England Highway and in the Southern Downs Region local government area, 206 kilometres from the state capital, Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Thulimbah and the surrounding area had a population of 534. The name of the town derives from the name of the railway station used from 1883, apparently meaning "place of water" in an unrecorded Aboriginal language.
