Arcadia, Queensland

Arcadia is a village and town on Magnetic Island, Australia. Arcadia is more residential focused with around 97% of the dwellings being Housing or unit type dwellings. Arcadia is also home to Alma Bay and Geoffrey Bay, which are the Island's most well known beaches. It is also home to Centaur Guest House a World War 2 house built in memory of the hospital ship Centaur. Arcadia is home to the famous toad racing and a small population of rock wallabies

Moltke (1870)

The Moltke was a three-masted barque built in Hamburg, Germany in 1870. The vessel was wrecked off the coast of northern Queensland, Australia in 1890 before being refloated and hulked. In 1911 the vessel was scuttled off Geoffrey Bay, Magnetic Island. The wreck of the vessel now hosts a wide range of underwater life and is a popular open-water dive site.

Picnic Bay, Queensland

Picnic Bay is also an alternative name of Sok Kwu Wan, Hong Kong. Picnic Bay refers to both a bay on the south-east corner of Magnetic Island and the island's main town. At the 2006 census, Picnic Bay had a population of 360. Until recently, the bay was the landing site for ferry services from the mainland, but ferries now arrive at a new terminal at nearby Nelly Bay, Queensland.

Magnetic Island National Park

Magnetic Island is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 1122 km northwest of Brisbane, lying just off the coast from the city of Townsville. It occupies more than half of the area of Magnetic Island. Most of the park is in the western part of the island.

Horseshoe Bay, Queensland

Horseshoe Bay is a village on Magnetic Island, Queensland, Australia. It is considered the tourist strip of the island. From September 2006, Horseshoe Bay was undergoing a string of housing development behind the existing residential area to the southern part of the bay. It is also a major accommodation and recreation centre of Magnetic Island. At the 2006 census, Horseshoe Bay had a population of 484. Julian Assange resided here for a short while during his youth.
