Allansford railway station

Allansford railway station is a closed station in the town of Allansford, on the Warrnambool railway line in Victoria, Australia. The station was one of 35 closed to passenger traffic on 4 October 1981 as part of the New Deal timetable for country passengers.

Sherwood Park railway station

Sherwood Park is the most recently opened station on the Warrnambool railway line. Costing $1.15 million, it was completed in 2006. It is situated adjacent to the Deakin University's Warrnambool campus, and services the University, the Deakin University golf course, and a growing commercial and residential area at the eastern entrance of Warrnambool. The first train stopped at the station on 19 February 2006. From March 2007 the number of services stopping was increased from 2 to 28 per week.

Wangoom

Wangoom is a town in the Western District of Victoria, 255 kilometres from the state capital, Melbourne and 12 kilometres from the regional centre of Warrnambool. The population at the 2006 census was 378. After European settlement of the area in the 1840s mixed farming was conducted by many landowners and leasees until the introduction of the milking machine followed by a period where most farms derived a large proportion of their income from dairying.

Hopkins River

The Hopkins River is a river in southwestern Victoria, Australia. It begins near Ararat, and enters Bass Strait at Warrnambool. It is one of two rivers flowing through Warrnambool, the other is the Merri River. The major tributaries of the Hopkins are Mount Emu Creek flowing for 250 km from north of Trawalla to its confluence upstream from Allansford, and Salt Creek the main outflow from Lake Bolac. The river was named by Major Thomas Mitchell after a friend, Sir John Paul Hopkins, in 1836.
