Cloggs Cave

Cloggs Cave is a limestone cave and rockshelter with significant Aboriginal archaeological deposits, located on a cliff along the Snowy River gorge near the town of Buchan, Victoria. The cave was within the country of the Krowathunkooloong clan of the Gunaikurnai nation. The roof of the rock shelter outside the cave is heavily blackened, evidently from campfires. A passage leads to an inner chamber with a high cathedral-like roof.

County of Tambo, Victoria

The County of Tambo is one of the 37 counties of Victoria which are part of the cadastral divisions of Australia, used for land titles. It is located in eastern Gippsland, between the Tambo River in the west, and the Snowy River in the east. It includes Lakes Entrance. Before the 1860s the area was part of the former counties of Combermere and Abinger.

The Buchan Caves are a group of caves that include Royal Cave and Fairy Cave, located in Buchan, Victoria, with limestone formations created by underground rivers cutting through limestone rock almost 400 million years ago. Buchan, Victoria

Buchan is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on Buchan Road, in the Shire of East Gippsland near the Snowy River. At the 2006 census, Buchan and the surrounding area had a population of 326. The Post Office opened around October 1878, and at Buchan South in 1901 (closing in 1980). The town is probably best known for the limestone Buchan Caves and 1920s parkland which are just beside the centre of the township and is a popular destination for spelunkers.

The Shire of East Gippsland is a local government area in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia in the eastern part of the state. It includes the towns of Bairnsdale, Benambra, Bruthen, Buchan, Ensay, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Metung, Omeo, Orbost, Paynesville, Swan Reach and Swifts Creek. It has an area of 20,931.2 square kilometres. At the 2006 Census it had a population of 40,037.
