Cann River, Victoria

Cann River is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Cann River at the junction of the Princes Highway and Monaro Highway, in the Shire of East Gippsland. At the 2006 census, Cann River had a population of 223. The town is close to Lind National Park, Coopracambra National Park, and Croajingolong National Park, and is a popular stopping point for travellers between Melbourne and Sydney using the Princes Highway route. The Post Office opened on 1 July 1890.

County of Croajingolong

The County of Croajingolong is one of the 37 counties of Victoria which are part of the cadastral divisions of Australia, used for land titles. It is the most easterly county, and includes the Croajingolong National Park. Its western boundary is the Snowy River. The county was proclaimed in 1871 together with others from the Gipps Land District. Some time earlier maps showed proposed counties of Howe and Combermere occupying the area of Croajingolong.

The Thurra River is a river of Gippsland in southeastern Victoria, Australia. It enters Bass Strait through the Croajingolong National Park. The Thurra River catchment area is managed by the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority.

Alfred National Park

Alfred National Park is a 3,050–hectare national park in Victoria, Australia, 388 km east of Melbourne. It was declared in 1925. Located in East Gippsland, the park reserves examples of warm temperate rainforest, particularly the jungle of Mount Drummer. Compared to the tropical rainforests of Queensland and New South Wales, this is a floristically depauperate forest, representing as it does the southern limit of this flora.
