Gibson Steps

The Gibson Steps are an area of cliffs on the south coast of Australia, located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|40|06|S|143|06|43|E| | |name= }}. The cliffs are the first sightseeing stopoff in Port Campbell National Park for travellers heading West along the Great Ocean Road, located about 2 minutes drive from The Twelve Apostles. The name Gibson Steps refers to the staircase leading down to the stretch of beach shown to the right.

Twelve Apostles Marine National Park

Twelve Apostles Marine National Park is a 7,500-hectare marine park near Port Campbell, on the south-west coast of Victoria, Australia. The park is named after the scenic The Twelve Apostles rock stacks, and contains the wreck of the clipper Loch Ard, wrecked on Mutton Bird Island in 1878. It borders Port Campbell and Great Otway National Parks.

Loch Ard (ship)

The Loch Ard was a ship which was wrecked at Mutton bird Island just off the Shipwreck Coast of Victoria, Australia in 1878. The name was drawn from Loch Ard, a lake which lies to the west of the village of Aberfoyle, and to the east of Loch Lomond. It means "high lake" in Scottish Gaelic. The Loch Ard belonged to the Loch Line, a major shipping line operating between Great Britain and Australia.
