Colac-Ballarat railway line

The Colac to Ballarat line was a branch line that left the Warrnambool Line just east of Colac and proceeded in a generally northerly direction to join the Ballarat - Skipton Line at Newtown then heading into Ballarat Station. It was 112 km long, curving around the mountains and many lakes. The track has been removed completely and the last section of the Skipton to Ballarat line has been turned into a rail trail.

Woady Yaloak River

The Woady Yaloak River is a river in regional Victoria, Australia. It rises near Haddon, about 10 kilometres south-west of Ballarat, and runs through Smythesdale, Scarsdale, and Cressy before emptying into Lake Corangamite. The aboriginal word means 'running water' and has been spelt Wandinyallock, Wardiyallock and Worriyallock. There is a Woady Yaloak Primary School in Smythesdale and several places in the surrounding area are named after the Woady Yaloak.
