The Swan Valley is a region in the upper reaches of the Swan River between Guildford and Bells Rapids, Western Australia. It is bordered to the east by the Darling Scarp. Both Ellenbrook and Jane Brook lie within the region and discharge into the Swan River. There are 14 suburbs within the region including Herne Hill, Baskerville, Henley Brook, Caversham, Upper Swan, Brigadoon and Whiteman; It occurs in the City of Swan local government area.

Middle Swan, Western Australia

Middle Swan is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the Swan Valley, and forms part of the City of Swan local government area. The suburb is bisected by the Swan River. The suburb is most notable for its various wineries, including Houghton and Sandalford, but has the Midland Brickworks within its boundaries, as well as an accommodation facility (Swanleigh) for country students attending the Governor Stirling Senior High School and Swan Christian College.

Henley Brook, Western Australia

Henley Brook is an outer rural suburb of Perth, Western Australia, part of the Swan Valley wine region. The Ellen brook and Swan River meet in the northeastern corner of the suburb. This is also the farthest upstream Captain Stirling's 1827 exploration reached before deciding on the settlement site of new colony in 1829. The All Saints Church the oldest church in Western Australia is also at this site.

Bandyup Women's Prison

Bandyup Women's Prison is located in the northeastern rural suburb of West Swan, Western Australia. Prior to its construction, the female prisoners were at Fremantle Prison, which was overcrowded and offered women limited opportunities. Prisoners are employed in the textile shop, and traineeships and educational programs are offered.

Stratton, Western Australia

Stratton is a mostly residential eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Swan. Formerly known as Wexcombe, the name Stratton was chosen in 1989 to honour John Peter Stratton, a farmer, businessman and local landowner who was president of the Western Australian Trotting Association from 1930 until 1966.
