Nardaran Fortress
Nardaran Fortress - was built in 1301, by architect Mahmud Sad oglu in the northern part of Absheron Peninsula. An inscription on Nardaran fortress, which was translated by A.A. Nardaran
Nardaran is a settlement and municipality on the Abşeron Peninsula in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 8,300. Located 25 kilometers northeast of central Baku, it is politically part of the Baku city-subdivision and treated as a suburb. Unlike the rest of the country which is staunchly secular and which is considered religiously progressive, Nardaran is a lone center of conservative Shi'a Islam in Azerbaijan.
