Dyle (department)

Dyle is a département of the First French Empire in present Belgium. It was named after the river Dijle, which flows through the département. Its territory corresponds more or less with that of the Belgian province of Brabant, now divided into Walloon Brabant, Flemish Brabant and Brussels-Capital Region. Its capital was Brussels. The département came into existence on 1 October 1795, after the Southern Netherlands were occupied by the French.

Brussels-South railway station

Brussels-South is the biggest railway station in Brussels, capital of Belgium. The station's bilingual French-Dutch name is often shortened outside Belgium – for example, in the Thomas Cook European Rail Timetable — to the (tri-lingual) "Brussels Midi/Zuid". The station is served by the Gare du Midi/Zuidstation station on the Brussels Metro system. 1,000 trains pass every day between Brussels-South and Brussels-North railway stations.

Law Courts of Brussels

The Law Courts of Brussels or Brussels Palace of Justice is the most important Court building in Belgium, and is a notable landmark of Brussels. It was built between 1866 and 1883 in the eclectic style by architect Joseph Poelaert. The total cost of the construction, land and furnishings was somewhere in the region of 45 million Belgian francs. It is the biggest building constructed in the 19th century.

South Tower (Brussels)

Tour du Midi or Zuidertoren, both meaning South Tower, is a 38-storey, 148 m skyscraper constructed between 1962 and 1967 in Brussels, Belgium. The tower is the tallest building in Belgium, and was the tallest in the European Union when built until surpassed by Tour Montparnasse in Paris in 1972. Tour du Midi stands adjacent to the Brussels-South railway station.
