San Estevan, Belize

San Estevan was the first town in the Orange Walk District of the nation of Belize but later became a village due to migration of villagers to other parts of the country during a great epedimic. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 3,847 people. The village is approximately 6 miles northeast from Orange Walk Town. Most villagers rely on sugar cane as a source of income to their families. As much as 90% of the villagers own a parcel of sugar cane and are very active cane farmers.

San Estevan (Maya site)

The San Estevan archaeological site is located in northern Belize 1 km from the modern community of San Estevan, Belize. The site is a Maya civilization site occupied during the Formative (800 BC- AD 300) and Classic (AD 300 – 900) eras of Mesoamerican chronology. San Estevan is located on the New River half way between the sites of Cerros and Lamanai. Beginning in the Late Formative period (300 BC- AD 300), San Estevan was a regional political center.

Pulltrouser Swamp (Maya site)

Pulltrouser Swamp is a wetland area located in northern Belize, between the New River (Belize) and Hondo River (Belize). This area contains numerous archaeological sites belonging to the Maya civilization, the most studied features of which are the raised field structures. Three of these sites, called Raised-Field Site I, Raised-Field Site 2, and Raised-Field site 3, were excavated by archaeologists B.L. Turner and Peter D. Harrison.

Trial Farm is a village near Orange Walk Town in the Orange Walk District of the nation of Belize. According to the 2000 census, it had a population of 3,443 people. It is located at 29 metres above sea level. Trial Farm is a very vivid and warm village. Villagers are kind and always willing to lend a hand. In April 2010, Village Council Elections were held and the U.D.P. slate was victorious.
