The 1984 Balkan Bulgarian Tupolev Tu-134 crash occurred on 10 January 1984 when a Balkan Bulgarian Airlines Tupolev Tu-134 airliner crashed on an international flight from Berlin Schönefeld Airport in Schönefeld, East Germany, to Sofia Airport in Sofia, Bulgaria. While on approach to Sofia Airport in heavy snow, the crew failed to make visual contact with the ground as they descended below decision altitude.

Busmantsi

Busmantsi is a village located in the Sofia City Province, western Bulgaria. It is part of the Iskar municipality at 8 km to the east of the City centre. As of 2006 it has 1,619 inhabitants. The village is surrounded by agricultural lands and factories. There are no woods in the vicinity with the exception of the areas around the Iskar river. In Busmantsi, there is also a big detention Center.

Vrana Palace

Vrana Palace (Bulgarian: Дворец „Врана“, Dvorets „Vrana“) is a former royal palace, located on the outskirts of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It is today the official residence of the deposed Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria and his wife Tsaritsa Margarita. While the Royal palace in the centre of Sofia served representative purposes and the Euxinograd palace near Varna was a summer residence, Vrana was the palace where the royal family of Bulgaria spent most of their time.

Lesnovo, Bulgaria

Lesnovo is a village in central western Bulgaria, part of Elin Pelin municipality, Sofia Province. As of 2006 it has 1,829 inhabitants. The village came into existence in 16-17th centuries. Lesnovo has a three-domed Eastern Orthodox church of St Archangel Michael, a rare design for Bulgaria, dating to the early 20th century; it also features pointed arches. Iskar, Sofia

Iskar is a district located in the eastern parts of Sofia. As of 2006 it has 69,896 inhabitants and has an area of 25,6 km². It includes four neighbourhoods: "Druzhba 1", "Druzhba 2", "Dimitar Milenkov" and Abdovitsa as well as the village of Busmantsi. The district also includes the "Gara Iskar" industrial zone which is situated around the railway station of the same name. There is a nice park with rare tree species and a lake. There are 3 churches including one in Busmantsi.
