Lake Varna

Lake Varna (Bulgarian: Варненско езеро, Varnensko ezero) is the largest by volume and deepest liman or lake along the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, divided from the sea by a 2 km-wide strip of sand and having an area of 17 km², maximal depth 19 m, and a volume of 166 million m³. The lake has an elongated shape, its south shores are high, steep and wooded, and the north slant. Lake Varna was formed in a river valley by the raising of sea level near the end of the Pleistocene.

Port of Varna

Port of Varna (Bulgarian: Пристанище Варна, Pristanishte Varna) is the largest seaport complex in Bulgaria. Located on the Black Sea's west coast on Varna Bay, along Lake Varna and Lake Beloslav, it also comprises the outlying port of Balchik. It has a significant further development potential with 44 km (27 mi) of sheltered inland waterfront on the lakes alone, easily accessible by road and railroad and adjacent to Varna International Airport.

Varna Necropolis

The Varna Necropolis (also Varna Cemetery) is a burial site in the western industrial zone of Varna (approximately half a kilometre from Lake Varna and 4 km from the city centre), Bulgaria, internationally considered one of the key archaeological sites in world prehistory. The oldest golden treasure in the world, dating to 5,000 BC, was discovered at the site.

Varna railway station

Varna railway station (Bulgarian: Железопътна гара Варна, Zhelezopatna gara Varna) serves the Black Sea city and municipality of Varna, the third most populous city in Bulgaria. The station is one of Bulgaria's oldest railway stations. Its present station building was constructed between 1908 and 1925, when it was opened officially by Tsar Boris III, but Varna has had a railway station since 26 October 1866, when the Varna-Rousse railway line was inaugurated.

Stoyan Bachvarov Dramatic Theatre

The Stoyan Bachvarov Dramatic Theatre (Bulgarian: Драматичен театър ”Стоян Бъчваров”, Dramatichen teatar ”Stoyan Bachvarov”) is a theatre in Varna, Bulgaria, founded in 1921 as the Municipal Professional Theatre. It occupies a historic building in the centre of the city designed by Nikola Lazarov and built between 26 March 1912 and 5 June 1932. The building was finished by the architects Dabko Dabkov and Jelyazko Bogdanov. It is named after the prominent theatre actor Stoyan Bachvarov.
