Lake Timiskaming

Lake Timiskaming or Lake Temiskaming is a large freshwater lake on the provincial border between Ontario and Quebec, Canada. The lake, which forms part of the Ottawa River, is 110 kilometres in length and covers an area of almost 295 km . Its water level ranges between 175 m and 179 m above sea-level, with a mean annual average of 178.4 m . The lake is in places up to 216 m deep. There are several islands on the lake, notably Mann and du Collège Islands.

Fort Témiscamingue

Fort Témiscamingue was a trading post from the 17th century in Duhamel-Ouest, Quebec, near Ville-Marie, Canada, located on the fur trade route on the east shore of Lake Timiskaming. The fort is a National Historic Site of Canada.

Paradis Bay, Ontario

Paradis Bay is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within the Unorganized, West Part division of Timiskaming District. The community is located along a rural road off Highway 567, south of Cobalt and near Lorrain Valley.

Silver Centre, Ontario

Silver Centre is a ghost town in Timiskaming District, Northeastern Ontario, Canada, situated in South Lorrain Township. It is located approximately 35 km south of North Cobalt, and 3 km west of Highway 567. Silver Centre was a secondary camp to the great silver fields of Cobalt, discovered in 1903. There are no current residents in Silver Centre. It is still an active mineral field and does at times have active mineral exploration.

Devil's Rock

Devil's Rock, or Devils Rock, is a granite escarpment, located 5 kilometres south of Haileybury, Ontario, Canada. It is dated to be 2,200 million years old and it has a face of 600 feet rising 300 feet above Lake Timiskaming. People have been rock climbing Devil's Rock in recent years. There are five tunnels in the cliff's face that were made from rock blasting between 1907 and 1912. It is a local treasured area of beauty with hiking trails, and is often depicted in local art.
