Santa Bárbara, Cape Verde

Santa Bárbara, is a village the island of Brava, Cape Verde. It is about 3 kilometers to the east of the island capital of Vila Nova Sintra. The village is linked by a narrow road to the island capital and to the harbour of Furna. Santa Bárbara can be reached by "Aluguer" busses. There are a school, a small church, a sports ground and some small shops in the village.

Furna (Brava)

Furna, is a port community in the island of northeastern part of the Brava, Cape Verde. The area around Furna are surrounded by mountains to the southwest and is linked with a road linking to the island capital of Vila Nova Sintra and the rest of the island. It serves ferry routes to the nearby island of Fogo via its small port with São Filipe.

Brava, Cape Verde

Brava is an island in Cape Verde. It is the smallest inhabited island, but at the same time the greenest, of Cape Verde, in the Sotavento group. First settled in the 1540s, its population grew after Mount Fogo on neighbouring Fogo erupted in 1675. Its main industry was long whaling, but the island is now primarily agricultural.
