São Domingos, Cape Verde (municipality)
São Domingos is a Municipality in Santiago island in Cape Verde. The São Domingos municipality was formed primarily to relieve Praia of the administrative difficulties involved in managing both a large capital city in addition to agrarian villages. The São Domingos municipality includes two roads, one of which was widened to three lanes and paved in 2004. The two major settlements in the concelho are São Domingos and Praia Baixo, São Domingos being by far the largest settlement in the area.

Rui Vaz
Rui Vaz is a village situated at the center of Santiago Island in Cape Verde. Due to its altitude (1 km) its climate is pleasant compared to the rest of the country. Like many other villages in Cape Verde, the decentralisation of the government has made possible the appearance of many infrastructures, including the motel "Quinta da Montanha", where one can enjoy a traditional meal and peaceful rest. The Capeverdean musician Silva Rosa is from Rui Vaz.

Ribeira Grande de Santiago, Cape Verde
Ribeira Grande de Santiago (Portuguese for "Great River" which it flows nearby) is a municipality located in Cape Verde. The municipality was first founded in the 16th century. Later, the importance of the city declined and the municipality was transferred to Praia. The old city of Ribeira Grande de Santiago is one of the oldest cities founded by Europeans in Sub-Saharan Africa.
