Santa Luzia, Cape Verde

Santa Luzia is an island of the Barlavento archipelago in Cape Verde located between São Nicolau and São Vicente. The area is 35 km² (some reads 34 km²). The highest point is Monte Grande elevating 395 m. Home to a small agricultural population in the eighteenth century, desertification led to its abandonment, while it later acted as a hermitage. It is home to a unique lizard. In the 20th century, a meteorology station was built.

Ilhéu Branco

Ilhéu Branco (Portuguese for "white islet") is an islet in the Barlavento group of islands of Cape Verde archipelago. Branco is flanked by Santa Luzia in the northwest and by Raso island in the southeast. It is uninhabited except by birds and is known for its guano and surrounding marine life. It is also one of only two islands where the Cape Verde Giant Skink was observed to reside, and was formerly a home to the critically endangered Raso Lark.

Calhau

Calhau is a small fishing village on the east coast of the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde, 15 km east of the island capital of Mindelo. Calhau is situated on a branch that connects with the main road linking to Mindelo and south to Topim. Much of the area is grassy and rocky with a couple of trees, especially within the roads. The GDP for the community is very low. The area has nice sandy beaches for baths in the sea, a small fishing port and a bay with the same name.

Ribeira do Calhau

Ribeira do Calhau is a ribeira (stream) that flows in the eastern part of the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde. The stream flows from west to east and is almost entirely dry except on rainy days. It is one of the longest streams on the island and its total length is approximately 15 km.
