Cotacotani Lake

Laguna de Cotacotani (hispanicized expression) or Quta Qutani (Aymara quta lake, the reduplication signifies there is a group or complex of s. th. , -ni is a suffix to indicate ownership, "the one that has got a group of lakes" or "the one with a group of lakes") is a lake located in the Andean altiplano of the Parinacota Province, Arica-Parinacota Region, Chile.

Canal Lauca

The Canal Lauca is an artificial channel to divert the waters of the Lauca River westward through a canal and tunnel into the Azapa Valley for purposes of irrigation in the valley and hydroelectric-power generation. Its construction began 1948 and water diversion began 14 years later from a dam located about 16 miles southwest of Lago Cotacotani Lake.

Chungará Lake

"Chungara" redirects here. For the journal see Chungara (journal). Chungará is a lake situated in the extreme north of Chile, in the Altiplano of Arica y Parinacota Region in the Lauca National Park. It is the 29th highest lake in the world (and the 10th highest in South America). It is near the volcanos Parinacota and Pomerape .
