Apagado

Apagado (Spanish for Extinct, also known as Hualiaque) is a pyroclastic cone with scattered vegetation cover. It has an approximately 400 m -wide crater and a base diameter of approximately 2 km . The volcano is located in Chile's Los Lagos Region, and lies 13 km west of the Hornopirén Volcano and southwest of Yate Volcano on a peninsula that borders the Reloncaví Estuary, Reloncaví Sound and Gulf of Ancud. Apagado has a nearly intact summit crater.

Reloncaví Sound

Reloncaví Sound or Seno de Reloncaví is a body of water located immediately south of Puerto Montt, Chile. It is the place where the Intermediate Depression falls into the Pacific Ocean. There are several islands in the sound including Tenglo Island, Maillén Island and Huar Island. The Puluqui Island and Queulín Island separate it from the Gulf of Ancud.

Huar Island

Huar Island or Guar Island is an island of Calbuco Archipelago located in the Reloncaví Sound. The island is located about 15 km northeast of Calbuco and 20 km south of Puerto Montt. There are 5 settlements in the island and 5 schools: Quetrolauquén, Alfaro, Nalcahue, Chucagua y Colhue. The island was the last place of the Chono people. There is no electricity network on the island, but the 5 schools are connected with Internet.
