Fomitiporia ellipsoidea

Fomitiporia ellipsoidea is a species of polypore fungus in the family Hymenochaetaceae, a specimen of which produced the largest fungal fruit body ever recorded. The basidiocarps are perennial, allowing them to grow very large under favourable circumstances.
