Jiulong River

The Jiulong River or Jiulong Jiang is the largest river in southern Fujian, and the second largest in the province. Like all Fujian rivers but one, it flows into the Taiwan Strait. With a length of 258 kilometres and a basin of 14,700 square kilometres, its furthest origin—the north branch beixi (北溪)-- is within the municipality of Longyan; the west branch xixi (西溪), almost as long, flows from Zhangzhou's Pinghe County.

Xiamen International School

Xiamen International School (XIS) is a private, international school located in Xiamen, China. The school was established in August 1997 and is located in the southern coast of China in Fujian Province, and is considered the most prestigious bilingual school there. XIS was the first international school to be established in Fujian Province by the Ministry of Education.

Haicang Bridge

Haicang Bridge is a suspension bridge located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Built in 1999, it has a main span of 648 meters. Haicang Bridge is a very important bridge that links Xiamen Island (where the city center is located) with the city's Haicang District located on the mainland.

Gulangyu Island

Gulangyu is a car-free island off the coast of Xiamen, Fujian province in southern China, about 2 km in area. It is home to about 20,000 people and is a domestic tourist destination. Visitors can reach it by ferry from Xiamen Island in about 5 minutes. Gulangyu Island is renowned for its beaches and winding lanes and its varied architecture. The island is on China's list of National Scenic Spots and also ranks at the top of the list of the ten most-scenic areas in the province.

Port of Xiamen

The Port of Xiamen is an important deep water port located in the mouth of the Jiulongjiang River on the southern coastline of Fujian province in the People's Republic of China (PRC). It is one of the trunk line ports in the Asia-Pacific region. It is ranked the 8th largest container port in the PRC, and ranks 30th among the world's top 100. It is the 4th port in the PRC with the capacity to handle the sixth-generation large container vessels.
