Sera Monastery

Sera Monastery is one of the 'great three' Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet, located 1.25 miles north of Lhasa. The other two are Ganden Monastery and Drepung Monastery. The origin of the name 'Sera' is attributed to a fact that the site where the monastery was built was surrounded by wild roses (se ra in Tibetan language) in bloom.

Drapchi Prison

Drapchi Prison, or Lhasa Prison No. 1 is the largest prison in Tibet, located in Lhasa. Originally built as a Tibetan military garrison, Drapchi was transformed into a prison after the 1959 Tibetan uprising. It officially opened as a prison in 1965 and consists of a series of nine units and has recently been expanded and restructured.

Banak Shöl Hotel

Banak Shöl Hotel is a historic hotel in the city of Lhasa, Tibet. It is located at 8 Beijing Road. The hotel is known for its distinctive wooden verandas. The Nam-Tso Restaurant is located inside the hotel and is popular with tourists visiting Lhasa.

Tsomon Ling

Tsomon Ling, Tsomonling, Tsome Ling, Chomoling (Tsho smon gling - pronounced 'Tsemonling') is a temple in inner Lhasa, south of the Ramoche Temple, and on the corner of one of the main roads, Dekyi Shar Lam. It was one of the Four Royal Colleges or Regency Temples (Ling Shi or gLing bzhi) of Lhasa built during the 17th century after the Fifth Dalai Lama assumed both temporal as well as spiritual power. The other three Ling are Tengye Ling, Kunde Ling, and Drib Tsemchok Ling.

Tromzikhang

Tromzikhang, is a historic building in Barkhor, Lhasa in Tibet. It is located northwest of Jokhang temple at the corner of the left side of Barkhor Tromshung Jang (street). It was demolished in the 1990s except for the magnificent facade. Today Tromzikhang is a notable market in Lhasa and a housing complex.
