Alfaro Ruiz (canton)

Zarcero is the name of the 11th canton in the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 155.13 square kilometres, and has a population of 11,556 (estimate as of 2003). The capital city of the canton is Zarcero. It is a diamond-shaped canton, with the Río Espina (Thornbush River) as the border on the northwest and the southwest sides. The Río Toro (Bull River) forms the southeastern border, and the Río La Vieja (Old Woman River) borders the northeast.

Naranjo de Alajuela

Naranjo is the capital city of the canton of Naranjo in the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. It is also the name of the distrito (district) that includes the city. The district of Naranjo covers an area of 25.75 km², and has a population of 19,760. The city lies at an elevation of 1,043 meters above sea level in the Central Valley (Valle Central), 31 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital city of Alajuela, and 47 kilometers from the national capital city of San Jose.

Naranjo (canton)

Naranjo is the name of the sixth canton in the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 126.62 square kilometres, and has a population of 40,134 (estimate as of 2003). The capital city of the canton is also called Naranjo. The Río Grande (Great River) forms the western and southern boundaries of the canton. The Río Espino (Thornbush River) is on the north, and the Río Colorado (Red River) and Río Molino (Mill River) establish the eastern border.
