San Pedro de Poás
San Pedro is the capital city of the canton of Poás in the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. It is also the name of the distrito (district) that includes the city. The district of San Pedro covers an area of 14.64 km², and has a population of 7,497. The city lies at an elevation of 1,148 meters above sea level in the mountains of the Cordillera Central (Central Mountain Range) in Costa Rica.

Poás (canton)
Poás is the eighth canton in the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 73.84 square kilometres, and has a population of 26,476 (estimate as of 2003).
