Drvenik, Split-Dalmatia County

Drvenik is a village in southern Dalmatia, Croatia, in Gradac municipality, located between Makarska and Ploče. Drvenik lays in two bays (Gornja vala and Donja vala). Drvenik represents a unique symbiosis of sea and mountain beauty with its bay surrounded by the cliffs of mountain Biokovo. Famous pro tennis player Zoran Mateljak known in the ATP World Tour as "Zoran the Brutal Barbarian" has a summer villa in Drvenik.

Igrane

Igrane is a village in Croatia, around 19 km south from Makarska. It has about 420 inhabitants. At the highest point of the village is the "Kula Zale" tower - named after Ivan Anticic, and built during the 17th century as a protection against Turks. The Pre-Romanesque church of St. Michael (Sveti Mihovil), dating from the 11th century, dominates the village. Tourism and agriculture are the main sources of income for the inhabitants.

Zaostrog

Zaostrog is a tourist town and harbor along the Adriatic Sea in southern Dalmatia, Croatia. It is located between Makarska and Ploče. It consists of two parts, an older part below a steep limestone section of the Biokovo mountain range, and a newer coastal zone. Olive growing is prominent in the area. Dominating the village for more than half a millennium is the old Franciscan monastery called St Mary.

Zabiokovlje

Zabiokovlje is a hinterland, continental area of mountain Biokovo in southern Croatia. There are the townlets and villages like Gornja Brela, Zadvarje, Žeževica, Grabovac, Rastovac, Zagvozd, Župa, Rašćane i Kozica. Major economic activities there were cattle raising, grape growing, and hunting. Part of this area is in Nature Park Biokovo. From the south-eastern side of the mountain of Biokovo is the Makarska riviera.
