It is a monumental gothic building with baroque and rococo additions and unique medieval fresco paintings. Although no monks remain at the monastery, mass is celebrated on Wednesday and Sunday. The Malše originates on the north slope of Viehberg, near the village of Sandl in Bezirk Freistadt, Upper Austria.
