Until January 1, 2007, Gjern municipality is a municipality in Aarhus County in the eastern part of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 144 km², and had a total population of 8.134 (2005). Its last mayor was Ella Porskær, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Hammel is a town in central Denmark with a population of 6,881 (1 January 2011), and a former railway town at the Aarhus-Hammel-Thorsø railroad which was closed in 1956. Jyllands-Ringen
FDM Jyllands-Ringen is a motor racing circuit in Resenbro, near Silkeborg in Denmark. The circuit was extended from 1.475 kilometers to 2.3 kilometers in 2003, by linking the track to an adjacent oval circuit. Jyllands-Ringen hosts regular rounds of the Danish Touringcar Championship. This was the home of the so called Danish Grand Prix in 1968, 1969 and 1970 the races were for Sports Prototypes and Sports GT cars.
