Vilsund Bridge

Vilsund Bridge (Vilsundbroen) is a bascule arch bridge that crosses Vilsund between Mors and Thy in northwestern Jutland, Denmark. The bridge is 382 metres long, and the longest span is 30 metres. Vilsund Bridge was designed by Anker Engelund. Construction started in 1937, and the bridge was opened on 16 July 1939.

Thisted Municipality

Thisted municipality is a municipality in North Denmark Region, Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 1,072 km², and has a total population of 45,549 (2008). Its mayor is Erik Hove Olesen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne). The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Thisted.

Thisted

Thisted is a town in Thisted municipality of Region Nordjylland, in Denmark. It has a population of 13,138 (1 January 2012) and is located in Thy, in northwestern Jutland. The town name derives from the Germanic deity Tyr and could be translated into Tyr's Stead. Market town status was given to Thisted in the year 1500.

Thy (district)

Thy is a traditional district in northwestern Jutland, Denmark. It is situated north of the Limfjord, facing the North Sea and Skagerrak, and has a population of around 44,000. The capital is Thisted population of 14.000. Snedsted, Hanstholm and Hurup are minor towns in the area. Since the Danish municipal reform of 1 January 2007, Thy is roughly identical with Thisted Municipality which belongs to the North Denmark Region.

Mors (island)

Mors or Morsø is a small island in the shallow sound called Limfjorden in Denmark. It has an area of 367.7 kma and as of 1 January 2010, it has a population of 21,800. The main town on the island is called Nykøbing Mors. Geologically Mors is unique. Mors, as the neighbouring island of Fur, is known for its deposits of diatomite, locally known as 'moler' (mo-clay).
