Aabybro

Aabybro is a town in Jammerbugt municipality in Denmark. In 1953, its population was 1,188; by 1960 it had risen to 1,346 and by 2012 to 5,435. Aabybro was formerly the capital of Aabybro Municipality in former Hjørring County, North Jutland County, but by 2007 became the headquarters of Jammerbugt Municipality. The actress Helle Dolleris was born in Aabybro.

Aabybro Municipality

Before the Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), Aabybro Municipality was a municipality in North Jutland County on the island of Vendsyssel-Thy, part of the Jutland peninsula, in northern Denmark. The municipality included several small islands in the Limfjord, the waterway that separates the main body of the Jutland peninsula from the island of Vendsyssel-Thy, including Tagholme.

Aalborg Air Base

Aalborg Air Base is a military base for the Danish Air Force. It is located at Vadum, near Aalborg, Denmark. Aalborg Air Base shares its runway system as well as some services (Air Traffic Control etc. ) with Aalborg Lufthavn. Residing Royal Danish Air Force units are: 721 Squadron which is an air transport squadron equipped with Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules and CL-604 Challenger aircraft It is also the base for Denmark's elite Jægerkorpset special forces unit.

Egholm

Egholm is a Danish island in the Limfjord close to Aalborg. The island covers an area of 6.05 km² and has 50 inhabitants. Egholm can be reached by ferry from Aalborg within 5 minutes.

Lindholm Høje

Lindholm Høje (Lindholm Hills, from Old Norse haugr, hill or mound) is a major Viking burial site and former settlement situated to the north of and overlooking the city of Aalborg in Denmark. The southern (lower) part of Lindholm Høje dates to 1000 – 1050 AD, the Viking Age, while the northern (higher) part is significantly earlier, dating back to the 5th century AD.
