Stevns Peninsula

Stevns Peninsula is a peninsula on Sjælland in Denmark. It is separated from Sjælland by the three streams Stevns Å, Tryggevælde Å and Kildeå. The main town of the peninsula is Store Heddinge, and most of the peninsula is covered by the Stevns Municipality.

Stevns Municipality

Stevns is a municipality in Region Sjælland on the southeast coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in south Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 247 square kilometres, and has a total population of 21,892 (2008). Its mayor is Paul Arne Sørensen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The municipality covers most of Stevns Peninsula. The third largest town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hårlev.

Smerup

Smerup is a village in the southern part of Stevns, a peninsula of the Island Sjælland in Denmark, Europe. The village is centered around a church (built around year 1270) and a village pond. The village is situated between the cities Faxe and Store Heddinge. The distance to the city Køge is 25 km. Smerup is parish-of-ease to the neighboring village Store Spjellerup, but is itself church city for the larger neighboring village Store Torøje.

Gjorslev

Gjorslev is a cruciform medieval castle located 17 km south-east of Køge, on the island of Zealand, in Denmark. Originally owned by the Bishop of Roskilde, it is considered one of the most well-preserved examples of Gothic secular architecture in Denmark.
