Daule Canton

Daule, also known as Villa Daule, is a canton located in the Guayas province in Ecuador. Created in 1820, it is one of the most important cites of Guayas thanks to its rice production and other products such as corn and eggs. The Daule canton covers an area of 462 square kilometres and as of the 2001 census it had a population of 85,148 people. The seat or capital of the canton is the city of Daule.

Daule, Guayas

Daule, Guayas, Ecuador is a city located in central Guayas, Ecuador, on the Daule River. It is the seat of Daule Canton, created November 26 of 1820. At the 2007 census there were 125,358 people living within canton limits, thus is one of the most important cities in the province. The main crop is rice. Every September fourteenth in Daule people celebrate "El Señor de Los Milagros" festival. That day people go to the church called El Señor de los Milagros and at night they watch fireworks.

Founded by Dr. Carlos Ortega Maldonado, it was accredited by CONESUP, then the Ecuadorian higher education governing agency. Its modern campus is located in Samborondon (Greater Guayaquil).

Tarqui, Guayaquil Canton

Tarqui is an urban parish in Guayaquil Canton, Guayas, Ecuador, named after the Battle of Tarqui. Tarqui is the largest and most populous parish in Guayaquil. It occupies the northern half of the city. As of the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 835,486 inhabitants, 42.9% of the population in the city. Its southeastern portion belongs to the downtown.

Babahoyo River

The Babahoyo River is a river in western Ecuador, fed by tributaries rising in the Andes Mountains. It takes its name from the town of Babahoyo in Los Ríos. At Durán, it joins the Daule River to form the Guayas River, which continues to the Pacific Ocean. The river is the backbone of trade in the city of the same name. Much of west-central Ecuadorian agricultural produce, especially rice, sugarcane, fruits, balsa wood, and tagua nuts are grown here.
