Safaga

Port Safaga, also known as Safaga, is a town in Egypt, on the coast of the Red Sea, located 53 km south of Hurghada. This small port is also a tourist area that consists of several bungalows and rest houses, including the Safaga Hotel, with a capacity of 48 rooms (126 beds). Having numerous phosphate mines, it is regarded as the phosphates export center. A paved road of 164 km connects Safaga to Qena of Upper Egypt.

Soma Bay

Soma Bay is a coastal resort on the Red Sea in Egypt, 45 km south of Hurghada International Airport. The ten million m², self-contained community of Soma Bay is a peninsula surrounded on all sides by the sea. About 5 km in length and 2 km wide, the peninsula is accessed via a 7 km private road through a single controlled entry gate. Soma Bay features some of the best Red Sea diving with its house reef and a variety of nearby diving sites.

MV Salem Express

The Salem Express was a passenger ship that sank in the Red Sea. It is controversial due to the tragic loss of life which occurred when she sank shortly after midnight on December 17, 1991. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:26|38|22.02|N|34|3|39.9|E|type:landmark |primary |name= }} The Salem Express was a roll on, roll off car & passenger ferry that operated between the ports of Safaga (in Egypt) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
