Ahuachapán

Ahuachapán is a city and municipality and the capital of the Ahuachapán Department in western El Salvador. The municipality including the city covers an area of 244.84 km² and as of 2007 has a population of 110,511 people. Situated near the Guatemalan border, it is the westernmost city in the country and is the center of an agricultural region producing primarily coffee. Ahuachapán is the site of a geothermal power plant and a hydroelectric station.

Estadio Simeón Magaña

Estadio Simeón Magaña is a multi-use stadium in Ahuachapán Department, El Salvador. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Once Municipal. Once Municipal hierarchy decided to try to secure their own field so they turned to Arturo Simeón Magaña who owned the land around cancha El Zapotón where Once Municipal played. Simeón Magaña Decided to donate the land on condition it could be the pride of Ahuachapán.

Cordillera de Apaneca

Cordillera de Apaneca is a volcanic mountain range in western El Salvador. It consists mainly of volcanoes. Ilamatepec volcano, one of the most active in the region, is a part of this range.

Juayúa

Juayúa is a municipality in the Sonsonate department of El Salvador. Juayua is a quaint little town up in the mountains, founded in 1577. The town's central plaza faces an old white cathedral that features a black Christ statue. This statue is a sister statue to that of the revered Basilica of Esquipulas in Guatemala and was carved by Quirio Cantano in the late 16th Century.

Salcoatitán

Salcoatitán is a municipality in the Sonsonate department of El Salvador. It is located at a kilometer to the Southwest of Juayua, at 12 Kilometers to the north of Sonsonate, and at 1045 meters over the sea level. It possesses a small and beautiful colonial church that dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, made of calicanto, tile, and roof, with heavy support of bricks and stone, built by the presbyters Santiago Quijada, Esteban España, Cosme Alonso, and Juan Hidalgo.
