Amba Mariam

Amba Mariam is a village in central Ethiopia. It was known as Magdala or Meqdela (መቅደላ meḳdelā) during the reign of Emperor Tewodros II of Ethiopia. Dessie

Dessie (also spelled Dese or Dessye, is a city and a woreda in north-central Ethiopia. Located on the Addis Ababa - Asmara highway in the Debub Wollo Zone of the Amhara Region, this city has a latitude and longitude of {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:11|8|N|39|38|E||| | |name= }} with an elevation between 2,470 and 2,550 metres above sea level. Dessie has postal service, and telephone service from at least as early as 1954.

Abole

Abole (also known as Obole) is a town 30 km northwest of Degehabur, in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. On April 24, 2007 an attack on an oil facility in the town by the rebel ONLF group left 74 people dead, including Chinese nationals.

Debub Wollo Zone

Debub Wollo (or "South Wollo") is one of 10 Zones in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. It acquired its name from the former province of Wollo. Debub Wollo is bordered on the south by Semien Shewa and the Oromia Region, on the west by Mirab Gojjam, on the northwest by Debub Gondar, on the north by Semien Wollo, on the northeast by Afar Region, and on the east by the Oromia Zone and Argobba special woreda. Its highest point is Mount Amba Ferit.
