Dessie (also spelled Dese or Dessye, is a city and a woreda in north-central Ethiopia. Amba Mariam

Amba Mariam is a village in central Ethiopia. It was known as Magdala or Meqdela (መቅደላ meḳdelā) during the reign of Emperor Tewodros II of Ethiopia. Hayq, Ethiopia

It is named after Lake Hayq, which lies two kilometers east of the city and is the home of Istifanos Monastery, an important landmark in Ethiopian Church history.
