Lake Awasa

Lake Awasa is an endorheic basin in Ethiopia, located in the Main Ethiopian Rift south of Addis Ababa. According to the Statistical Abstract of Ethiopia for 1967/68, the lake is 16 km long and 9 km wide, with a surface area of 129 square kilometers. It has a maximum depth of 10 meters and is located at an elevation of 1,708 meters. Because it is relatively accessible to scientists, Lake Awasa is the most studied of the Rift Valley lakes in Ethiopia.

Awasa

Awasa (also spelled Awassa or Hawassa) is a city in Ethiopia, on the shores of Lake Awasa in the Great Rift Valley. Located 270 km south of Addis Ababa via Debre Zeit, 130 km east of Sodo, 75 km north of Dilla and 1125 km north of Nairobi, Awasa is the capital of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region and is a special zone of this region.

Awassa Kenema Stadium

Awassa Kenema Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Awassa, Ethiopia. It is used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Awassa City F.C. The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 people.

Awasa Zuria

Awasa Zuria is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Awasa Zuria is bordered on the south by Shebedino and Boricha, on the west and north by the Oromia Region, and on the east by Wondo Genet. Town of Awasa and woredas of Wondo Genet and Malga were separated from former Awasa woreda. The rest of this woreda was renamed for Awasa Zuria (Greater Awasa).

Senkelle Swayne's Hartebeest Sanctuary

Senkelle Swayne's Hartebeest Sanctuary is a protected area in the Oromia Region (or kilil) of Ethiopia, dedicated especially to the protection of the Swayne's Hartebeest. Covering 58 square kilometers, the reserve is located some 10 kilometers south of the Shashemene-Arba Minch road near the town of Aje.
