The University of Oulu is one of the largest universities in Finland, located in the city of Oulu. It was founded on July 8, 1958. The university has around 16,000 students and 3,000 staff. Koskela Light

Koskela Light is a sector light tower located on the southern shore of Letonniemi promontory in Taskila district of the City of Oulu in Finland. The tower is located within the boundaries of Letonniemi natural preservation. It was built in 1940 to guide vessels towards the Toppila harbour. The tower is 5 metres high octagonal concrete structure with an octagonal steel lantern, resting on a square slab of concrete. The tower was originally painted red with a white lantern.

Villa Hannala

Villa Hannala is a historic villa in Toppilansaari, Oulu, Finland. Located at Kahvelitie 1, the villa was built in 1859 for the Snellman family. Decorations and a tower were added in the 1890s. After surviving the threat of demolition, the building became property of the city of Oulu. In 2004–2007 it was renovated by the adult educational centre of Oulu Polytechnic (Oulun Aikuiskoulutuskeskus). Today, the villa is almost fully restored. A café was established for visitors.

Raatti Stadium

Raatti Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Oulu, Finland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and the stadium holds 5,000 people. It was opened in 1953 and renovated 2009–2011.

Oulu Castle

Oulu Castle was a late defense castle in Oulu, Finland. It was built on an island in the delta of Oulu River in 1590. The castle was mostly made of wood and earth walls. There probably was an earlier medieval castle on the same site latest by 1375. The Russian Sophia Chronicle has recorded that men from Novgorod tried to conquer a new castle in the Oulu River delta in 1377 but were unsuccessful. The present-day ruins remain from an even later castle, which was built in 1605.
