Pyhäselkä

Pyhäselkä is a former municipality of Finland, now part of Joensuu. It seat was located in Hammaslahti. Pyhäselkä is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. The municipality had a population of 7,390 (2003) and covered an area of 351.58 km² of which 71.38 km² is water. The population density was 26.4 inhabitants per km². The municipality was unilingually Finnish. Pyhäselkä was consolidated, together with Eno, with Joensuu on January 1, 2009.

Pielisensuu Church

Pielisensuu Church is the main church for the Lutheran parish of the same name. The church stands 105 metres above sea level on a hill in the Niinivaara neighbourhood of Joensuu, Finland. Pielisenssu Parish forms a part of the parish union of Kuopio. It is one of six Joensuu-area parishes of the deanery supervised by Ilpo Kari Ranta; and is one of 60 parishes administered by the Bishop of Kuopio, currently Wille Riekkinen.

Joensuu railway station

Joensuu railway station is located in Joensuu, North Karelia, Finland. The station was opened in 1894. The station is served by passenger trains to Helsinki, Nurmes and Pieksämäki. The line to Helsinki via Lappeenranta is electrified, all other routes are operated by diesel hauled trains. Passenger trains to Helsinki are mainly operated by InterCity or double-deck InterCity 2 carriages hauled by VR Class Sr1 locomotives or by Pendolino units.

Joensuu Church

Joensuu Church is made of bricks and located in the centre of Joensuu, North Karelia, Finland. The church was built in 1903 and designed by a Finnish church architect Josef Stenbäck. The church is in the Gothic Revival style, but it also has some features of Jugendstil. The high tower located in the southeast corner is the bell tower and in the lower southwest tower is the organ. It was built in 1969 by Organ Factory of Kangasala and has 36 stops. The church has 1000 seats.
