Savonlinna Cathedral

Savonlinna Cathedral is located in Savonlinna, Finland. It was built between 1874 and 1878 and designed by architect Axel Hampus Dahlström in the Gothic Revival style. It has room for 1000 people.

Olavinlinna

Olavinlinna (Swedish: Olofsborg; literally St. Olaf's Castle, see Olaf II of Norway) is a 15th century three-tower castle located in Savonlinna, Finland. It is the northernmost medieval stone fortress still standing. The castle is built on an island in the Kyrönsalmi strait that connects the lakes Haukivesi and Pihlajavesi.

Savonlinna Opera Festival

Savonlinna Opera Festival is held annually in the city of Savonlinna in Finland. The Festival takes place at the medieval Olavinlinna (St. Olaf's Castle), built in 1475. The castle is located amid spectacular lake scenery.

The Monastic Protestant Community in Enonkoski

The Monastic Protestant Community in Enonkoski is the only Evangelical Lutheran monastery in Finland. It is located in the village of Ihamaniemi in the Enonkoski municipality. The monastery building is an old elementary school building. The monastery was founded in 1994. There is only one person, Sister Virva Tyrväinen, living permanently in the monastery.
