Vimoutiers Tiger tank

The Vimoutiers Tiger tank (French: char Tigre de Vimoutiers) is a World War II German Tiger tank on outside display on the outskirts of Vimoutiers in the French departement of Orne, in Normandy. This tank was abandoned by its crew, after being sabotaged by two inside explosive charges, in August 1944, during the last fight of the Battle of Normandy. Abandoned until the mid-1970s in a road ditch, it was recovered by the municipality of Vimoutiers to prevent the tank being scrapped.

Gare de Lisieux

Gare de Lisieux is the main train station for the town of Lisieux and was built by CF de l'Ouest in 1855. The station is built in a Y shape and is situated on the Mantes-la-Jolie–Cherbourg railway main line from Paris to Caen and Cherbourg. The station is also served by trains to Trouville-Deauville. Lisieux has one other station: the Gare du Grand-Jardin on the line to Trouville-Deauville.

Basilica of St. Thérèse, Lisieux

The Basilica of St. Thérèse of Lisieux (French: Basilique Sainte-Thérèse de Lisieux) is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica dedicated to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Located in Lisieux, France, the large basilica can accommodate 4,000 people, and, with more than two million visitors a year, is the second largest pilgrimage site in France, after Lourdes. Pope John Paul II visited the Basilica on 2 June 1980.

Lisieux Cathedral

Lisieux Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Lisieux) is a former Roman Catholic cathedral, and a national monument of France, in Lisieux. It was the seat of the Bishop of Lisieux. The diocese of Lisieux was abolished under the Concordat of 1801 and merged into the Diocese of Bayeux. The cathedral was built between 1170 and the middle of the 13th century. The west front of the building consists of three portals surmounted by two towers.
