Lorraines Branch

The Lorraines Branch is a canal in central France, some 50 km east of Bourges. It is a disused branch of the Canal latéral à la Loire now serving as a feeder from the Allier River. At one time it carried traffic from the Allier via a circular lock. The Ecluse de Lorraines was 32 km in diameter with three gates providing access from the river on two levels above and below a weir.

The Allier is a river in central France, and is the left tributary to the Loire River. Its source is in the Massif Central, in the Lozère département, east of Mende. It flows generally north. It joins the Loire River west of the city of Nevers.

2005 French Grand Prix

The 2005 French Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race, held on July 3, 2005, at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, near Magny-Cours, in France. The race, contested over 70 laps, was the tenth round of the 2005 Formula One season, and was won by Renault driver Fernando Alonso. McLaren driver Kimi Räikkönen, Alonso's main title rival, finished the race in second position whlist Michael Schumacher completed the podium for the Ferrari team.

2007 French Grand Prix

The 2007 French Grand Prix (formally the XCIII Grand Prix de France) was a Formula One motor race held on July 1, 2007 at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, Magny-Cours, France. It was the eighth race of the 2007 Formula One season. The race, contested over 70 laps, was won by Kimi Räikkönen for the Ferrari team after starting from third position. Felipe Massa, who started the race from pole position, finished second in the latter Ferrari, with Lewis Hamilton third in a McLaren car.
