Musée des 24 Heures du Mans

The Museum of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was founded in 1961 as the Automobile Museum de la Sarthe. In 1991 it was adopted by the organizers of the 24 hours road race and moved to a purpose built museum complex under the direction of Francis Piquera, the Executive Manager. In 2009 it was extensively renovated, so that the museum's permanent exhibition of the 24 Hours now highlights over 100 exceptional cars, many collectibles, dozens of films and archive photographs.

1955 Le Mans disaster

The 1955 Le Mans disaster occurred during the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race, when a crash caused large pieces of racing car debris to fly into the crowd. Eighty-three spectators and driver Pierre Levegh died at the scene, whilst 120 more were injured in the most catastrophic accident in motorsport history.

MMArena

Stade Le Mans is a multi-use stadium in Le Mans, France, that opened in January 2011. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Le Mans FC. The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 people. It replaced the Stade Léon-Bollée as the club's stadium. The arena is located inside what is the Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, and adjacent the first right kink on the Mulsanne Straight.
