Île d'Or

The île d'Or is a private island located at the east of the city of Saint-Raphaël in France, facing the Dramon cap. This small island is composed of russet rocks and surmounted by a tower reminiscent of the Middle Ages said to have been the inspiration for The Black Island in Hergé's The Adventures of Tintin series. Viewed from the sea from the left side of the tower, a rock, commonly thought to resemble the profile of a gorilla, also recalls the comic books of Hergé.

French Riviera

The Côte d'Azur, often known in English as the French Riviera, is the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France, also including the sovereign state of Monaco. There is no official boundary, but it is usually considered to extend from the Italian border in the east to Saint-Tropez, Hyères, Toulon or Cassis in the west. This coastline was one of the first modern resort areas. It began as a winter health resort for the British upper class at the end of the 18th century.

Massif de l'Esterel

The Esterel Massif is a coastal mountain range in the departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes in Provence, south-east France. Neighbouring cities are Mandelieu and Cannes (in the east) and Saint-Raphaël / Fréjus (in the west). The soil and rocks of the range are of volcanic origin, composed mainly of porphyry, which gives the hills a red color. The terrain is rugged, with deep ravines and oak forests. The highest point of the massif is Mont Vinaigre (618 metres).

Château de la Napoule

The Château de la Napoule is a restored French castle, located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule in the Alpes-Maritimes Department of France, It has been classified as an historical landmark since 1993, and the gardens are listed by the French Ministry of Culture as among the Notable gardens of France. It was featured as one of the main locations in the 1999 movie Simon Sez.

Siagne

The Siagne is a river that flows through the Var and Alpes-Maritimes departments of southeast France. For much of its length, it forms the border between the two departments. Its source is near Escragnolles, flowing southeast, through Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne and Pégomas, and into the Mediterranean Sea in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, 5 km west of Cannes.
